Wikigacha: the Wikipedia gacha card game, how it works and where to play
In short: Wikigacha, also called Wikipedia Gacha, is a gacha card game played in the browser at wikigacha.com, made by Japanese developer Harusugi and released on 24 February 2026. Each card is a Wikipedia article from the language you play in, with a rarity taken from the article quality assessment. According to the press in March 2026, more than 6.7 million cards exist. There is no official Wikigacha app: GachaPedia Game on Google Play is published by a different developer.
Looking for a Wikipedia card game as a real phone app? WikiCards is an independent alternative on Google Play and in the browser: packs of five Wikipedia cards, rarity from a year of real page views, trivia duels, a marketplace and trades.
Where to play Wikigacha
Wikigacha is played in a web browser at wikigacha.com, on a computer or a phone. The cards come from the Wikipedia of the language you choose, so the same game exists in English, French, Japanese and other languages.
On Google Play, an app called GachaPedia Game (package com.wikigacha.net) is published by Aigility LLC, a different developer from Wikigacha, with ads according to its store page, last updated on 6 April 2026. It is not the Wikigacha browser game. Details: is there a Wikigacha app for Android or iPhone?
How Wikigacha works
Every card is a Wikipedia article. The press counted more than 6.7 million of them in March 2026, since any article of the chosen Wikipedia can be drawn.
Rarity comes from the quality assessment of the article on Wikipedia, on 7 levels. Each card carries ATK, computed from page views multiplied by the rarity, and DEF, computed from the length of the article.
Packs are the heart of the gacha: a gold pack comes every 10 packs. The game is free to play in the browser.
What Wikigacha does not do
No store app, so no notifications and no offline play: the browser does everything.
No trivia duel: Wikigacha is a collection game. For a Wikipedia card game with battles, packs every hour and a marketplace, see WikiCards below.
