The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Along with Alexei Starobinsky and Andrei Linde, he won the 2014 Kavli Prize "for pioneering the theory of cosmic inflation." Guth's research focuses on elementary particle theory and how particle theory is applicable to the early universe.
- He graduated from MIT in 1968 in physics and stayed to receive a master's and a doctorate, also in physics.
- As a junior particle physicist, Guth developed the idea of cosmic inflation in 1979 at Cornell and gave his first seminar on the subject in January 1980.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Alan Guth article was read about 48,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 66 and blocks with 37: each hit it takes is cut by 15 %.
