The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The kilonova, visible over the weeks and months following the merger, is an isotropically expanding luminous afterglow of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the radioactive decay of r-process nuclei synthesized by, and then ejected from, the initial cataclysmic event.
- The high sphericity of kilonovae through its early epochs was deduced from the blackbody nature of the spectrum observed for GW170817 / AT2017gfo, the only BNS merger that has been definitively localized as of June 2026.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Kilonova article was read about 50,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 67 and blocks with 57: each hit it takes is cut by 23 %.
How to get Kilonova
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
