The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- It occurs when an inner-shell vacancy in an atom is filled by an electron, releasing energy that causes the emission of another electron from a different shell of the same atom.
- When a core electron is removed, leaving a vacancy, an electron from a higher energy level may fall into the vacancy, resulting in a release of energy.
- For light atoms, this energy is most often transferred to a valence electron which is subsequently ejected from the atom.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Auger effect article was read about 28,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 49 and blocks with 25: each hit it takes is cut by 10 %.
