The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Written by American author Edith Wharton, it came out October 14, 1905.
- The House of Mirth traces Lily's slow two-year social descent from privilege to a lonely existence on the margins of society as she fails to marry a man of wealth and status to secure her a place in affluent society.
- Wharton uses Lily, in critic Shari Benstock's words, as an attack on "an irresponsible, grasping and morally corrupt upper class." The House of Mirth was serialized in Scribner's Magazine beginning in January 1905 which created great interest in the story.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The The House of Mirth article was read about 110,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 78 and blocks with 61: each hit it takes is cut by 24 %.
