The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The term, coined in 1967 by Thomas Hanna, a philosophy professor and movement theorist, is used in movement therapy to signify approaches based on the soma, or "the body as perceived from within", including Skinner Releasing Technique, The Trager Approach, Alexander technique, the Feldenkrais method, Eutony, Rolfing Structural Integration, among others.
- In dance, the term refers to techniques based on the dancer's internal sensation, in contrast with "performative techniques", such as ballet or modern dance, which emphasize the external observation of movement by an audience.
- Somatic techniques may be used in bodywork, psychotherapy, dance, or spiritual practices.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Somatics article was read about 29,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 69 and blocks with 70: each hit it takes is cut by 28 %.
How to get Somatics
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
