The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Relativistic beaming causes matter moving towards an observer, for example, a telescope on Earth, to appear brighter than matter moving away, even when there is no intrinsic difference in the luminosities.
- In an astronomical context, relativistic beaming commonly occurs in two oppositely directed relativistic jets of plasma that originate from a central compact object that is accreting matter.
- Accreting compact objects with relativistic jets explain phenomena such as X-ray binaries, gamma-ray bursts, and, on a much larger scale, active galactic nuclei.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Relativistic beaming article was read about 18,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 57 and blocks with 23: each hit it takes is cut by 9 %.
How to get Relativistic beaming
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
