The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- This conjugate Brønsted–Lewis superacid system was developed in the 1960s by Ronald Gillespie and his team at McMaster University, and has been used by George Olah to stabilise carbocations and hypercoordinated carbonium ions in liquid media.
- Magic acid and other superacids are also used to catalyze isomerization of saturated hydrocarbons, and have been shown to protonate even weak bases, including methane, xenon, halogens, and molecular hydrogen.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Magic acid article was read about 33,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 61 and blocks with 54: each hit it takes is cut by 22 %.
