Lindane, also known as gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane, gammaxene, Gammallin and benzene hexachloride, is an organochlorine chemical and an isomer of hexachlorocyclohexane that has been used both as an agricultural insecticide and as a pharmaceutical treatment for lice and scabies.
