The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The law states that the total enthalpy change during the complete course of a chemical reaction is independent of the sequence of steps taken.
- Hess's law is now understood as an expression of the fact that the enthalpy of a chemical process is independent of the path taken from the initial to the final state.
- According to the first law of thermodynamics, the enthalpy change in a system due to a reaction at constant pressure is equal to the heat absorbed, which can be determined by calorimetry for many reactions.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Hess's law article was read about 27,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 57 and blocks with 25: each hit it takes is cut by 10 %.
How to get Hess's law
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
