The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- First proposed by George Hammond in 1955, the postulate states that: If two states, as, for example, a transition state and an unstable intermediate, occur consecutively during a reaction process and have nearly the same energy content, their interconversion will involve only a small reorganization of the molecular structures.
- Therefore, the geometric structure of a state can be predicted by comparing its energy to the species neighboring it along the reaction coordinate.
- For example, in an exothermic reaction the transition state is closer in energy to the reactants than to the products.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Hammond's postulate article was read about 10,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 65 and blocks with 55: each hit it takes is cut by 22 %.
How to get Hammond's postulate
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
