The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The device may be referred to colloquially as a "black box", an outdated name which has become a misnomer because they are required to be painted bright orange, to aid in their recovery after accidents.
- There are two types of flight recording devices: the flight data recorder preserves the recent history of the flight by recording dozens of parameters collected several times per second, the cockpit voice recorder preserves the recent history of the sounds in the cockpit, including the conversation of the pilots.
- The two devices may be combined into a single unit.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Flight recorder article was read about 140,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 81 and blocks with 78: each hit it takes is cut by 31 %.
