The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- This layer is sometimes called sial because its bulk composition is richer in aluminium silicates and has a lower density compared to the oceanic crust, called sima which is richer in magnesium silicate minerals.
- Changes in seismic wave velocities have shown that at a certain depth, there is a reasonably sharp contrast between the more felsic upper continental crust and the lower continental crust, which is more mafic in character.
- Most continental crust is dry land above sea level.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Continental crust article was read about 43,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 62 and blocks with 41: each hit it takes is cut by 16 %.
