The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- He was born in Cyrene.
- By the time of his embassy to Rome in 155 BC, he was already a leading critic of dogmatic doctrines, especially those of Stoicism and the Epicureans, continuing the critical engagement that his predecessor Arcesilaus had also directed against both schools.
- As scholarch of the Academy, he was one of three philosophers sent to Rome in 155 BC where his lectures on the uncertainty of justice caused consternation among leading politicians.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Carneades article was read about 14,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 66 and blocks with 47: each hit it takes is cut by 19 %.
