The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Traditionally, it was made from the nearly fat-free milk remaining after churning butter from cream, which was cultured with natural bacteria prior to and during churning, giving a slight sour taste to the buttermilk and preventing spoilage.
- However, with the ubiquity of refrigeration in industrialized countries, butter in those areas is typically made from uncultured or "sweet" cream.
- Therefore, most modern buttermilk is specifically produced by inoculating fresh, pasteurized milk, and is available in different levels of fat content.
Why it is Rare
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Buttermilk article was read about 220,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 60 and blocks with 40: each hit it takes is cut by 16 %.
