The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- They are also known as freshwater smelts or typical smelts to distinguish them from the related Argentinidae, Bathylagidae, and Retropinnidae.
- Some smelt species are common in the North American Great Lakes, and in the lakes and seas of the northern part of Europe, where they run in large schools along the saltwater coastline during spring migration to their spawning streams.
- In some western parts of the United States, smelt populations have greatly declined in recent decades, leading to their protection under the Endangered Species Act.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Smelt article was read about 80,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 63 and blocks with 53: each hit it takes is cut by 21 %.
