The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The site has served as a whistleblowing platform, in that it highlighted shortcomings in several high-profile papers, in some cases leading to retractions and to accusations of scientific fraud, as noted by Retraction Watch.
- Contrary to most platforms, it allows anonymous post-publication commenting, a controversial feature which is the main factor for its success.
- Consequently, accusations of libel have been levelled at some of PubPeer's users, correspondingly the website has since 2016 told commentators to use only facts that can be publicly verified.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The PubPeer article was read about 14,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 53 and blocks with 28: each hit it takes is cut by 11 %.
How to get PubPeer
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
