The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Discovered in 1915 by Robert Innes, it is a small, low-mass star, too faint to be seen with the naked eye, with an apparent magnitude of 11.13.
- Proxima Centauri is a member of the Alpha Centauri star system, being identified as component Alpha Centauri C, and is 2.18° southwest of the Alpha Centauri AB pair.
- It is currently 12,950 AU from AB, which it orbits with a period of about 550,000 years.
Why it is Epic
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Proxima Centauri article was read about 570,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 86 and blocks with 94: each hit it takes is cut by 38 %.
