The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- It was first published in 1722 making it the first newspaper to be published in Hispanic America.
- It was founded by Juan Ignacio María de Castorena Ursúa y Goyeneche, a journalist, Catholic priest, and later Bishop of Yucatan.
- He was evidently a Jesuit, as he was educated under Jesuit direction in the Colegio Real de San Ildefonso, and the Seminario de la Sagrada Compañía de Jesús de la Corte de México, and had many Jesuit associates.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The La Gaceta de México article was read about 880 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 51 and blocks with 26: each hit it takes is cut by 10 %.
