The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- He was born in the United States, and moved to Europe in 1902, becoming a British subject in 1910.
- Early in his career, in 1912, The Pall Mall Gazette described Epstein as "a Sculptor in Revolt, who is in deadly conflict with the ideas of current sculpture." Revolting against ornate, pretty art, he made bold, often harsh and massive forms in bronze or stone.
- His sculpture is distinguished by its vigorous rough-hewn realism.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Jacob Epstein article was read about 83,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 81 and blocks with 100: each hit it takes is cut by 40 %.
