The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- He was awarded the Military Cross after he assumed command of a group of American soldiers who had lost their officers during the Battle of the Hindenburg Line, and became the only official Australian photographer from any war to receive a combat medal.
- He narrowly failed in an attempt to be the first to cross under the North Pole in a submarine, but was able to prove that submarines were capable of operating beneath the polar ice cap, thereby paving the way for future successful missions.
- The US Navy later took his ashes to the North Pole aboard the submarine USS Skate on 17 March 1959.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Hubert Wilkins article was read about 22,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 70 and blocks with 67: each hit it takes is cut by 27 %.
