The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The genus Halobacterium consists of several species of Archaea with an aerobic metabolism which requires an environment with a high concentration of salt, many of their proteins will not function in low-salt environments.
- They grow on amino acids in their aerobic conditions.
- Their cell walls are also quite different from those of bacteria, as ordinary lipoprotein membranes fail in high salt concentrations.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Halobacterium article was read about 11,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 69 and blocks with 48: each hit it takes is cut by 19 %.
