The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- They were formerly considered members of subfamily Arctocephalinae in the family Otariidae, but the fur seals in Arctocephalus are more closely related to sea lions than they are to the Northern fur seal, so it was found to be a polyphyletic group.
- They are much more closely related to sea lions than true seals, and share with them external ears, relatively long and muscular foreflippers, and the ability to walk on all fours.
- They are marked by their dense underfur, which made them a long-time object of commercial hunting.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Fur seal article was read about 110,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 61 and blocks with 43: each hit it takes is cut by 17 %.
