The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- It is distinguished from the other main types, barrier reefs and atolls, in that it has either an entirely shallow backreef zone or none at all.
- If a fringing reef grows directly from the shoreline, then the reef flat extends to the beach and there is no backreef.
- In other cases, fringing reefs may grow hundreds of yards from shore and contain extensive backreef areas within which it contains food and water.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Fringing reef article was read about 14,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 61 and blocks with 61: each hit it takes is cut by 24 %.
