The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Best known for the discovery of an eponymous protozoal infection called Chagas disease, also called American trypanosomiasis, he also discovered the causative fungi of the pneumocystis pneumonia.
- He described the two pathogens in 1909, while he was working at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute in Rio de Janeiro, and named the former Trypanosoma cruzi to honour his friend Oswaldo Cruz.
- Chagas's work holds a unique place in the history of medicine, Chagas described in detail a previously-unknown infectious disease, its pathogen, vector, host, clinical manifestations, and epidemiology.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Carlos Chagas article was read about 9,500 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 69 and blocks with 66: each hit it takes is cut by 26 %.
