The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The premier catcher in the American League for several years from the 1960s into the early 1970s, he was named an All-Star in 11 seasons, the most All-Star seasons for a player to not be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
- He was the MVP runner-up for Tigers' 1968 World Series winning team, handling a pitching staff which included World Series MVP Mickey Lolich and regular season MVP Denny McLain, who that year became the first 30-game winner in the majors since 1934.
- A five-time Gold Glove Award winner, Freehan held the major league record for highest career fielding percentage until 2002, and also the records for career putouts and total chances from 1975 until the late 1980s, he ranked ninth in major league history in games caught at the end of his career.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Bill Freehan article was read about 22,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 66 and blocks with 54: each hit it takes is cut by 22 %.
