The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- He composed three of the most famous poems in Latin literature: the Eclogues, the Georgics, and the epic Aeneid.
- Some minor poems, collected in the Appendix Vergiliana, were attributed to him in ancient times, but modern scholars regard these as spurious, with the possible exception of some short pieces.
- Already acclaimed in his lifetime as a classic author, Virgil rapidly replaced Ennius and other earlier authors as a standard school text, and stood as the most popular Latin poet through late antiquity, the Middle Ages, and early modernity, exerting major influence on Western literature.
Why it is Epic
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Virgil article was read about 530,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 77 and blocks with 87: each hit it takes is cut by 35 %.
