The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Both served in the Marine Corps, and both were awarded the Navy Cross, posthumously.
- Cook was laid down at the Defoe Shipbuilding Company in Bay City, Michigan on 7 May 1944 and partially completed as a Rudderow-class destroyer escort with the hull number DE-714.
- A month before launching, on 17 July 1944, it was decided that Cook would be completed as a high-speed transport, with the designation APD-130.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The USS Cook article was read about 1,100 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 53 and blocks with 16: each hit it takes is cut by 6 %.
