The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The method was developed in the late 1940s at the University of Chicago by Willard Libby.
- It is based on the fact that radiocarbon is constantly being created in the Earth's atmosphere by the interaction of cosmic rays with atmospheric nitrogen.
- The resulting 14C combines with atmospheric oxygen to form radioactive carbon dioxide, which is incorporated into plants by photosynthesis, animals then acquire 14C by eating the plants.
Why it is Rare
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Radiocarbon dating article was read about 200,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 86 and blocks with 99: each hit it takes is cut by 40 %.
How to get Radiocarbon dating
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
