The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- After their service in Bermuda, they established a community in the south of Trinidad between 1815 and 1816.
- The region was largely populated by French-speaking Catholics but soon transitioned to an English-speaking, Baptist community after their arrival.
- It is believed that the term "Merikins" is derived from the local patois, but as many Americans have long been in the habit of dropping the initial "A" it is also likely that the new settlers brought that pronunciation with them from the United States.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Merikins article was read about 13,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 62 and blocks with 48: each hit it takes is cut by 19 %.
How to get Merikins
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
