The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The spread of literacy has been closely linked to the invention and spread of writing systems, the expansion of education, and technological change.
- Literacy rates have increased substantially worldwide since the mid-twentieth century, although significant disparities remain between countries, regions, and demographic groups, particularly with respect to gender and access to education.
- In 2022, the World Economic Forum estimated the global literacy rate at 87%, which was a substantial increase from 200 years ago, where it was at 12% in 1820.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Literacy article was read about 140,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 93 and blocks with 68: each hit it takes is cut by 27 %.
