The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The heaviest of the stable halogens, it exists at standard conditions as a semi-lustrous, non-metallic solid that melts to form a deep violet liquid at 114 °C, and boils to a violet gas at 184 °C.
- The element was discovered by the French chemist Bernard Courtois in 1811 and was named two years later by Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac, after the Ancient Greek Ιώδης, meaning 'violet'.
- Iodine occurs in many oxidation states, including iodide, iodate, and the various periodate anions.
Why it is Rare
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Iodine article was read about 320,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 86 and blocks with 96: each hit it takes is cut by 38 %.
