The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- A self-coup is said to take place when a leader, having come to power through legal means, tries to stay in power through illegal means.
- By one estimate, there were 457 coup attempts from 1950 to 2010, half of which were successful.
- Most coup attempts occurred in the mid-1960s, but there were also large numbers of coup attempts in the mid-1970s and the early 1990s.
Why it is Epic
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Coup d'état article was read about 580,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 82 and blocks with 85: each hit it takes is cut by 34 %.
How to get Coup d'état
Open packs. Each pack holds five cards drawn from real Wikipedia articles, the rarest last, and the fifth card is always Rare or better. The odds are shown in the game. A free pack arrives every hour and two can wait, and the Coins you win in duels buy more packs.
