The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- After a significant speculative outflow of China's physical silver to the United States of America due to the Roosevelt administration's Silver Purchase Act of 1934 resulted in insufficient silver reserves relative to notes issued, the Nationalist government abandoned the traditional silver standard and introduced its own paper currency, the Chinese National Currency, in the 1935 currency reform.
- However, this currency was issued without sufficient credit or reserve backing.
- The Nationalist government's reliance on deficit spending led to unchecked monetary expansion, resulting in rapid currency depreciation.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Chinese hyperinflation article was read about 10,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 77 and blocks with 89: each hit it takes is cut by 36 %.
