The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The piece consists of a melody by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod that he superimposed over an only very slightly changed version of Bach's Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of his The Well-Tempered Clavier, 1722.
- The 1853 publication has the superimposed melody for solo violin, but it is the 1859 version arranged for voice with the Latin "Ave Maria" which became popular.
Why it is Uncommon
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Ave Maria article was read about 35,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 53 and blocks with 23: each hit it takes is cut by 9 %.
