The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- Design and construction of equipment from first principles is valued by amateur radio hobbyists, known as "hams", for educational value, and to allow experimentation and development of techniques or levels of performance not readily available as commercial products.
- Some items can be home-brewed at similar or lower cost than purchased equivalents.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Amateur radio homebrew article was read about 2,300 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 53 and blocks with 45: each hit it takes is cut by 18 %.
