The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- He was a younger contemporary of Phidias and noted for the delicacy and finish of his works, among which a Hephaestus and an Aphrodite of the Gardens were conspicuous.
- Pausanias says that he was the author of one of the pediments of the temple of Zeus at Olympia, but this seems a chronological and stylistic impossibility.
- Pausanias also refers to a statue of Ares by Alcamenes that was erected on the Athenian agora, which some have related to the Ares Borghese.
Why it is Common
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Alcamenes article was read about 3,800 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 43 and blocks with 27: each hit it takes is cut by 11 %.
