The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- It cuts across the narrowest point of the Isthmus of Panama and is a conduit for maritime trade between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
- Locks at each end lift ships up to Gatun Lake, an artificial fresh water lake 26 meters above sea level, created by damming the Chagres River and Lake Alajuela to reduce the amount of excavation work required for the canal.
- Locks then lower the ships at the other end.
Why it is Epic
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Panama Canal article was read about 850,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 92 and blocks with 93: each hit it takes is cut by 37 %.
