The facts on the card
The card carries these facts from its Wikipedia article.
- The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy with a D25 isophotal diameter estimated at 26.8 ± 1.1 kiloparsecs, but only about 1,000 light-years thick at the spiral arms.
- Recent simulations suggest that a dark matter area, also containing some visible stars, may extend up to a diameter of almost 2 million light-years.
- The Milky Way has several satellite galaxies and is part of the Local Group of galaxies, forming part of the Virgo Supercluster which is itself a component of the Laniakea Supercluster.
Why it is Legendary
Rarity in WikiCards follows a year of Wikipedia page views: the most read articles become Epic and Legendary cards. The Milky Way article was read about 1,300,000 times in a year. ATK comes from the length of the article and DEF from its quality, so this card hits with 95 and blocks with 94: each hit it takes is cut by 38 %.
